    Alan Wake
Few weeks back, I attended the sneak preview for the latest Xbox game entitled "Alan Wake" held inside one of the movie theatres of The Cathay Cineleisure courtesy of RippleVox. First impressions, I even thought that "Alan Wake" was a movie! I'm quite of a gamer myself, having played Starcraft, Age of Empire, Counter Strike etc so I was really excited to see what this game has in store for all gamers out there.
    Alan Wake
In this dynamic new title exclusively for Xbox 360, players assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author suffering from writer’s block, who escapes to a small town only to experience the mysterious disappearance of his wife and to find pages from his book coming true!

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, “Alan Wake” immerses players in an intense and expansive cinematic world that enables players to explore the hyper-realistic and interactive environments. “Alan Wake” is mission-based with a deeply engaging and suspenseful storyline unveiling new twists and profound character revelations at every turn.
After watching a trailer of the game, I found out that "Alan Wake" is actually inspired by Twin Peaks, Lost, The X-Files as well as the works of Stephen King. No wonder it was kinda scary. Haha.

They showed a demonstration of how the game is being played and I really liked the fact that Light is used as a combat element in the game unlike other games whereby they use guns or magic. Alan Wake's enemies rise from the shadows and players must skillfully combine their use of light with more conventional weapons to stand a chance.

Another feature that I loved about the game was its amazing 3D graphics and its captivating storyline, which was not exactly the most original plot ever, but it still works nevertheless.

By the end of the sneak preview of the game, I really wished I had the opportunity to try this game out for myself. I'm a bit of a pussy when it comes to thriller games but being a fan of the storyline, I really want to know how the ending will turn out to be. It'd be great if this turns into a movie or something, you know I'd want to watch it!

Plus, if you're a fan of RPG games, you should definitely give this game a try.. but you might not want to play till the wee hours in the morning if you're a pussy like me. Haha.

Intrigued by the game yet? Don't fret. Alan Wake arrives on May 18 in Singapore and devoted fans can enjoy a Limited Collector's Edition of the game (picture below), resembling a hardcover novel and packed with special bonus content!
    Alan Wake Limited Collector's Edition
The Limited Edition will be available for an estimated retail price of S$79.90 and the standard edition at S$71.90!
